What Is A Transfer Student?

Transfer Students

A transfer student is anyone who wants to enroll in the ABC Apprenticeship and Craft Training Program and has previously attended a 2 or 4 year institution of higher learning.

To be considered for admission as a transfer student, you are required to submit documented evidence of such additional experience or training.

Those with military experience can take an advanced placement assessment to evaluate knowledge and skills.  This is a measurable way to determine which level of the program is the best starting point for the individual.

 

Schedule Of Classes, Price, And Deadlines

Omaha Training Center - 1st Semester

The first day of class for Electrical 2A (a) is Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at 5:30 pm, with class on Tuesday and Thursday nights.

The first day of class for Electrical 2A (b) is Monday, August 24, 2020 at 5:30 pm, with class on Monday and Wednesday nights. 

The first day of class for Electrical 3A (a) is Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at 5:00 pm, with class on Wednesday nights. 

The first day of class for Electrical 3A (b) is Thursday, August 27, 2020, at 5:00 pm, with class on Thursday nights.

The first day of class for Electrical 4A is Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at 5:30 pm, with class on Tuesday nights.

The first day of class for Plumbing 2A, is Monday, August 24, 2020, at 5:30 pm, with classes on Monday and Wednesday nights.

The first day of class for Plumbing 3 A (a)  is Monday, August 24, 2020, at 4:30 pm, with classes on Monday and Tuesday nights.

The first day of class for Plumbing 3 A (b)  is Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at 5:00 pm, with classes on Wednesday and Thursday nights.

The first day of class for Plumbing 4A, is Monday, August 24, 2020, at 5:00 pm, with classes on Monday and Tuesday nights.

Lincoln Training Center - 1st Semester

The first day of class for Electrical 2A  is Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 5:30 pm with class on Wednesday nights.

The first day of class for Electrical 3A is Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at 6:00 pm, with class on Tuesday nights.

The first day of class for Electrical 4A is Monday, August 24, 2020, at 6:00 pm, with class on Monday nights.

The first day of class for Plumbing 2A is Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 5:00 pm with class on Wednesdy nights.

The first day of class for Plumbing 3A is Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 6:00 pm with class on Wedesday nights.

The first day of class for Plumbing 4A is Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at 5:00 pm with class on Tuesday nights. 

Cost

Level 2 Member tuition - $550 + $50 Lab Fee

Level 2 Non-Member tuition - $650 + $50 Lab Fee

Level 3 & 4 Member tuition - $550

Level 3 & 4 Non-Member - $650

Level 2, 3, & 4 Member books - $250

Level 2, 3, & 4 Non-Member books - $300

The deadline to register for classes is Friday, August 14, 2020.  If you missed the deadline, contact the office for consideration.

NCCER National Training Registry

NCCER (National Center for Construction Education & Research) maintains a portable and widely recognized credentialing and certification system through its Registry.  This Registry assures portability of skills by providing transcripts, certificates and wallet cards to students who successfully complete the NCCER Curriculum through an accredited sponsor.  These valuable industry credentials benefit students as they seek employment and build their careers.  To be entered in NCCER's Registry, you must complete and sign a Registration and Release form. This form will be completed on the first night of class in each semester and requires your Social Security Number and your signature.

Your Responsibilites - Orientation

Training Trust

The Training Trust will provide you with an individual account where you or your employer may save in advance for the payment of the upcoming semester tuition and books.  There must be sufficient funds in your account to cover the cost of the tuition and books prior to the first day of class.

Students are expected to read and abide by the policies and regulations of the training centers.

Qualification For Advanced Placement

You can test out for advanced placement to sit in a higher level class.  NCCER Assessments & Certification Testing will evaluate your knowledge and skill level.  However, your employer must agree to you being tested.

Testing Fee Cost:  Member price $150.00 + tax/Non-Member price $200.00 + tax
