Electrical Council Meeting - January 27, 2015



The ABC Cornhusker Chapter Electrical Council will hold a meeting on January 27, 2015 at the Omaha Training Center beginning at 5:30 p.m.  Please contact Theresa Ptacek at 402-344-4258 or email her at theresap@abcnebraska.org if you plan to attend.

The judges have made their decisions and the winners will be announced on February 19 at the Cornhusker Hotel in Lincoln.  Join us as we recognize and celebrate with the winners of the Excellence In Construction Awards.

Coalition For A Democratic Workplace Filed Suit In The Circuit Against The Ambush Election Rule! Think You Are Safe From An Ambush Election Because Of This...Think Again!

    The New Year saw a number of trade associations jointly filing suit challenging the National Labor Relations Board’s recently issued ambush election rule.  Notably the “Coalition for a Democratic Workplace” (which ABC chairs) filed suit in the DC Circuit.   Other parties that have joined the law suit are the US Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Manufacturers to name a few.  That’s a bright spot indeed, unfortunately if relief comes as a result, it will be a long way down the road and it will be too late for many business that got assaulted in the resulting organizing efforts.    Remember, there has to be an injured party or business in order to have standing in the courts.  So this means the rule will go in to effect (April 14) and a flurry of new organizing activity will ... January Networking Luncheons

Connect with other ABC members by attending the Omaha Networking Luncheon at Anthony’s Restaurant on January 21 and the Lincoln Networking Luncheon at Beacon Hills Restaurant on January 27, 2015.
Speaker for both the Omaha Luncheon and the Lincoln Luncheon will be Kelly Ekeler from Harding & Shultz, P.C., L.L.O.  Ms. Ekeler will report on the ABC National Attorney’s Conference that was held in November.
Immediately following the Lincoln Luncheon, Beau Briggs, ABC Safety Director, will hold a short STEP “How To” session which will be helpful for you in filling out your 2015 STEP applications.
