The Cornhusker Chapter is planning a legislative initiative for the 2012 session of the Nebraska Legislature.  The exact nature must wait until we get closer to the legislative session to be revealed.  But regardless, grassroots contacts will be needed. So I am appealing to you for help now!  If you respond we can create an effective grassroots advocates for the industry.  WE NEED YOUR HELP TO BUILD THIS!

Some of you know a State Senator and some of you might not even know which Senator’s district you live in or work in!  Yet we really need your help to lend your voice on important industry issues!  You are willing and able to help? OK here’s the deal!

I will make a commitment to you that I will only; 

    •    Ask you to lend your voice on a very few bills that will make a significant 
         difference for our industry!
    •    You will be well informed on the issue so if asked you can field questions.
    •    When you are “called to action” the process will be easy and quick!

I need you to tell me (A)Who are  the State Senators where you live and where you work that you are willing to contact and (B) any other State Senators you know and are willing to contact;

(A) Send me an e-mail (BruceK@abcnebraska.org) and identify who are your State Senators where you live and where you work and tell me a little bit about your relationship with them.  Don’t know who is your State Senator?  You can click on this address and go to the web site to find out who your Senators are. http://nebraskalegislature.gov/senators/senator_find.php

Then in the e-mail to me just let me know your relationship by identifying all the numbered situations that apply.

1. I am a friend with the Senator who will return my phone calls.
2. I am a business acquaintance with the Senator who will return my phone calls.
3. I contributed money or was a volunteer campaign worker in the Senator’s last election.
4. I am willing to contact the Senator either by e-mail or phone on important industry issues.
5. I would be willing to attend ABC sponsored events to get to know the Senator better.

(B) In the same e-mail (BruceK@abcnebraska.org) identify any other State Senators you may know and tell me a little bit about your relationship. Let me know your relationship with them by identifying all the numbered situations that apply.
