As part of ABC’s goal to help our member companies win work and perform that work safely, ethically and profitably, ABC National has launched a data-gathering project that will anonymously collect safety performance data from our members, using your OSHA Form 300A as a guide.
The importance of this data is threefold:
(1) By collecting safety data from a majority of ABC members, we will be able to, for the first time, compare ABC safety performance versus that of the entire construction industry
(2) This data will allow us to compare the merit shop’s safety performance versus our union counterparts and help to dispel their purported myths that union safety is better than the merit shop—myths that have been used to support Project Labor Agreements (PLAs) and unfairly disparage merit shop contractors.
(3) This data will help to identify areas where support is needed to strengthen our association’s safety infrastructure through direct National and member support.
As chapter President I am asking for your participation in this important data-gathering project!
Click on this link --http://www.abc.org/Safety/OSHA_300A_Member_Survey.aspx and it will take you to an ABC website, where you will be asked to input data from your 2011 OSHA Form 300A. This form is completely anonymous—only your North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code and zip code will be used to identify your general area of work and location—and the information will only be seen and used by the chapter and ABC National. The web page asks for your email address only so that we’ll know that you’ve submitted your data and can remove you from future reminders to submit.
The data-gathering webpage will be active until February 29th; by submitting your 2011 OSHA Form 300A data, you can help our chapter and our members better fight the battles against union attacks and PLAs and, for the first time in ABC history, present the merit shop safety performance story as a representation of our entire federation.
Everyone and that means you has a role and stake in this endeavor. With your response, we will succeed.
