UPDATE - REGIONAL COUNCIL OF CARPENTERS (04/13/2011)

UPDATE-Regional Council of Carpenters….  In earlier editions of this e-newsletter we reported on a letter by the North Central States Regional Council of Carpenters sent to many construction firms requesting that the business provide wage and benefit information paid to their employees.  If they failed to provide this information then the Regional Council of Carpenters would conclude that the business does not meet area labor standards by not paying area standard wages and benefits.

The Regional Council of Carpenters has subsequently sent letters via certified mail to three businesses / owners alleging a “labor dispute”.  These are Iowa Western Community College, Alegent Health, Boy’s Town and Bellevue University.  These letters went on to explain that they should be aware of their “new public information campaign”.  Furthermore that campaign will include “highly visible lawful banner displays and distribution of hand bills” on the owners premises.

We would like to know if other businesses / owners received such letters.  Please call Bruce Kevil at the ABC office 402 477-4451
