The Cornhusker Chapter is very active in recruiting to the industry, not only in apprenticeship and craft training with the publicity and contacts generate from active involvement with the many agencies in the state, but "carrying the word" in other ways including:
Members of ABC Staff devote many hours attending High School Career Fairs. The logo and name recognition is invaluable as students make career choices. Staff and volunteer local contractors make presentations to high school career classes. The articulate stories the contractors relate have opened many minds to the potential in the industry.
Our school to work program carries the message concerning the potential of careers in the construction industry not only to high school age students, but with the Building Buddies Program developed for 4th and 5th graders. Click here for details of the Cornhusker Chapter School to Work program.
The Chapter is in its 10th year of hosting Construction Fairs in Lincoln, Omaha, and Kearney. Area Contractors are enthusiastic in developing hands-on experiences for the participants who attend and pictures are worth a thousand words so enter picture gallery here.
